of Aguirre International and The Aguirre Group, LLC

Silver Spring, MD (April 18, 2005)—Johnson, Bassin
& Shaw, Inc. (JBS), with corporate headquarters in Silver
Spring, MD, is pleased to announce its acquisition of Aguirre
International and The Aguirre Group, LLC. Founded by Dr. Edward
Aguirre, Commissioner of Education for President Ford, the
Aguirre companies provide management and consulting services
to numerous Federal and State agencies, non-profit organizations,
and private corporations. With revenues that reached $14 million
in 2004, major clients include U.S Agency for International
Development, U.S. Department of Labor, U.S. Department of
Education, and the Corporation for National and Community
Services. Aguirre’s corporate headquarters are in Burlingame,
CA, and they have an office in Washington, DC.
“Our business lines are complementary, and our focus on helping clients
achieve their strategic mission is the same,” noted
Gail Bassin, JBS Board Chairman. “Together, we will
be able to offer our respective clients a broader array of
expertise, skills, and experience than we have been able to
provide as separate entities.” Jerri Shaw, JBS President,

“Over time, we will create one company, while simultaneously
preserving the uniqueness that characterizes both JBS and

services consulting firm. Its 200 employees provide management
services primarily to Federal, State, and private clients.
