Silver Spring, MD (November 8, 2006)—JBS International is pleased to announce that the firm has been named Contractor of the Year ($25 - $75 million category) in the 4th Annual Greater Washington Government Contractor Awards, announced on October 11, 2006. The Contractor of the Year award is presented for distinguished financial and operational accomplishments, and for outstanding contributions during the past year to employees, the government contracting industry, and the U.S. Government.
The award application described 2005 as a milestone year for JBS with the celebration of the firm’s 20th anniversary, the acquisition of Aguirre International, and the establishment of the IT Services Division. The expansion included the addition of new offices in Washington, DC, San Francisco, CA, and Olympia, Washington. The application also addressed quality of work life, community service, revenues, and significant accomplishments, and provided client references. Included in the application packet were the letters submitted by JBS employees, which resulted in the induction of Gail Bassin, Board Chairperson, and Jerri Shaw, President, to the National Women’s Wall of Fame.
